The University of Ottawa’s first intensive Yiddish Program has wrapped up after six weeks of classes, lectures, workshops, films and fieldtrips. The students in the course have produced original projects that reflect active engagement with Yiddish: a family cookbook, a series of plays, original Yiddish poetry, Yiddish translations of children’s literature and popular music, English translations of Yiddish songs, a family history, and a Yiddish comic. Samples of these projects will be posted on this site.
